What is Corona Virus (COVID-19)?
COVID-19 continues to circulate in our community. Symptoms include fever, coughing, a sore throat and shortness of breath. People with complex and significant disability can be at high risk of illness if they contract Covid-19
We wish to advise that staff, participants and visitors must not enter a NADO workplace;
- if they have tested positive to Covid-19
- if experiencing flu or Covid-19 symptoms
- whilst waiting on the results of a Covid PCR test
We may implement enhanced protocols to manage Covid safety in high risk settings, including mask wearing, screening protocols and Rapid Antigen Testing.
How we are managing our services to minimise COVID-19 infections
- NADO has a Covid-Safe Plan that all staff are aware of.
- All NADO Disability Workers are vaccinated according to NADO’s Vaccination Covid-19 Policy.
- Staff have additional mandatory training in Infection Control, COVID-19 and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Personal Protective Equipment is available to staff, including gloves, disposable masks and hand sanitizer.
- Higher grade PPE is on hand in the case of a suspected or actual infection.
- Enhanced cleaning procedures covering premises and vehicles
- Posters and information from the Health Department are available in all sites reminding staff and participants about social distancing, and correct hand and coughing hygiene.
- Participants exhibiting cold or flu symptoms must not come to a NADO program or have services supplied by NADO staff, unless they reside in a group home that is serviced by NADO. Special procedures are in place to manage illness within the group homes.
- All staff are encouraged to have an annual Flu Vaccination and are reimbursed by NADO for any out of pocket expenses
