NADO Disability Services is excited to announce the launch of their brand-new Jamisontown Day Program. This unique day program is fully accessible and will be held at Share My Ability, a Sensory Activity Centre located in Penrith.
Participants of the program will have full access to the great features of the centre, including a range of interactive equipment, a liberty wheelchair swing, an inflatable bag jump, food prep facilities, a calming sensory room and gaming technology.
Out of centre activities will also be available at the new day Program which include art, music, dancing, drama, fitness, cooking, outdoor recreation, festivals and much more. By offering a range of both internal and out of centre activities, NADO is able to provide opportunities that help to build life skills and empower individuals with disability to reach their NDIS goals whilst maintaining strong connections to their local community.
NADO is a registered NDIS provider and not for profit organisation, with over 40 years’ experience in the disability sector across the Nepean and Blue Mountain region.
What are the benefits of Day Programs for NDIS Participants?
One of the main benefits of a supported day program is the positive impact they have on mental health and wellbeing. The Community Day Programs at NADO offer tailored programs for people with moderate to complex requirements relating to their individual physical and intellectual disabilities.
The new Jamisontown Day Program aims to provide new experiences, teach new skills, meet new friends, enhance self-esteem, increase independence – and overall, just have a great time as a valued and active member of the community. They can be chosen as part of an NDIS funded plan or as a fee-for-service.
Who is eligible?
All NDIS participants and persons with disability above the age of 17 are welcome to join. This day program is also suited to school leavers and young adults looking to transition from a school or learning environment.
