NADO by the River Community Day Program

Location, Location! Definitely a positive for our centre-based Community Day Program in Penrith, with plenty of space and a beautiful big yard overlooking the Nepean River with BBQ facilities.

As well as the location, another unique selling point is our team. They are vibrant and super friendly, everyone that walks through our doors always comments on the positive atmosphere and how they are made to feel so welcome. Parents and Carers are encouraged to stay and have breakfast or afternoon tea with us and many do.

We do it because as a team, we genuinely care about our participants and their families. The team have significant expertise in disability and have introduced lots of engagement activities for people with high support needs.

Our Story

We have shared and supported David’s journey to independent living after he moved into a group home at 30 years of age. This was a huge adjustment, but he has come along in leaps and bounds. He has started to communicate more and his independence has increased dramatically. Our team has worked with both his family and the new group home staff to ensure he builds on his skills and confidence and David hasn’t looked back.

Kirsty has suffered from severe anxiety over many years, which at times has been so severe that she was unable to leave the house. Kirsty is starting to regain her health and confidence with 2-hour sessions with staff, 3 days per week doing recreational activities. Kirsty is now asking for more hours out in the community as she has become more settled and has great trust in the staff that accompanies her.

Our Team
